The Charter

The aims for AMRRIC, as stated in the constitution are: To help raise the personal health standards of indigenous people in rural and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by improving the health of companion animals in the following ways:

  1. Aiding sustainable dog health programmes throughout Australian States and Territories.
  2. Promoting and develop scientific research into improving animal management practices.
  3. Holding conferences and other educational sessions to promote best practice in animal management in Indigenous communities.
  4. Coordinating dog health programmes for communities requesting assistance.
  5. Supporting Indigenous communities in managing dog health programmes through veterinary support, public health support and indigenous environmental health worker support.
